Gallery Furniture -- Houston's Furniture Store
Gallery Furniture's main store at 6006 I-45 North is open with a striking new look. After a devastating warehouse fire on May 21, 2009, the store was re-imagined, re-decorated, and re-opened even better than before.
The showroom has been remodeled to make it even more pleasant to shop at Gallery Furniture. It features a new area with fountains and lush foliage -- a comfortable place for customers to relax, talk about their furniture, and take a break.
The Home Theater and Electronics area has a new, more open look and the Tempur-Pedic showroom has been given a makeover by designer Bill Stubbs.
Stubbs has also created the Inspirational Idea Homes section. With three versions of a Texas home -- traditional home, Hill Country ranch, and a downtown townhome -- this part of the store has design ideas you can use in your own home.
The Gallery Furniture story began in 1981 when Jim McIngvale and his wife Linda arrived in Houston. With $5,000 and an empty model home park they opened a furniture store on I-45 North. That original collection of buildings has been replaced with a 100,000 square foot furniture showroom and a modern warehouse, but Gallery Furniture is still in business in that same location.
Shortly after Gallery Furniture opened, Jim McIngvale recorded his first television commercial with his soon-to-be-well-known slogan "Saves You Money!" The television commercials have become a part of Houston's pop culture landscape.
And McIngvale, soon be known as "Mattress Mack" from his television commericals, built a business based on the idea that Gallery Furniture really will save you money, and Gallery Furniture will deliver your new furniture TODAY!
Gallery Furniture is committed to offering customers high quality furniture at the lowest possible prices while providing the best customer service available. Mack puts it this way, "the customer first, last, and always."
The Gallery Experience
Gallery Furniture is more than a store -- it's an experience! Yes, there's a huge showroom filled with great buys on great furniture. There's also a lot to see, from the Elvis Presley car to sports memorabilia throughout the store, to the birds in the center of the showroom. There's a surprise around every corner.
You'll be met at the door by a member of our professional sales staff who will help you find what you are looking for - and more importantly, can find an expert in a particular area of furniture. The Gallery Furniture staff is salaried, not commissioned, and their goal is to help you get the best furniture for your needs.
Two Gallery Furniture Stores
The second Gallery Furniture store opened in 2009 at 2411 Post Oak Boulevard. Next door to the Galleria at the corner of Post Oak and Westheimer, the Post Oak store features furniture by Michael Kreiss, Drexel Heritage and other fine brands.
